For this giveaway, I'll be sharing this bundle of goodies:
Yes, those are gardening gloves beside the fat quarters and they are awesome for free motion quilting. A tip from a friend had me trying out a pair of these Gardena gloves on the quilting of Hard Core. Love, love, love these gloves! They fit snugly without getting too hot. The rubber on the palm gives me more grip so there's less strain on my fingers to hold the fabric. They did smell of rubber for the first couple of days out of the package, but they are fine now. Since this is one of my new favourite tools, I'm going to go all mini Oprah on you and share a pair with one of you, in addition to those fat quarters.

ReplyDeleteYour modern block of the week got me interested in your blog. I love what you sew!
ReplyDeleteCongrats...your blog is very inspirational!
ReplyDeleteM-R! Luv your style and colours and the bits of Canadiana! I use gloves for gardening and you say these are for weeding out puckers in my quilts! eh?
ReplyDeleteWhen I quilted my first FMQ project in Jan of this year, I went out to the garage and pulled out a pair of unused knit gloves with rubber palms from my husbands stash. They work great but are a bit on the floppy side. I have to take them off between passes to snip my threads. A pair of gloves not sized for "man-hands" would be a real treat. I have looked at a couple of versions at my local sewing shops but they don't seem to be as grippy so I have stuck with the garden variety. Thanks for a chance. Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteOne of my fave moments was when you were auditioning directions for you trees quilt. It's great to see other quilter's thought processes, and why they make the decisions they do!
