I got my act together late last night and made some Canada Day bunting!
I hadn't planned on putting it on the front of the house, but I tried it today and it fit perfectly so there it stayed!
We took the kids downtown for some of the shows and festivities. There really is nothing like celebrating Canada Day in the capital. And where else in the world would you celebrate a summer holiday with some ski jumping?! And not just ski jumping, but ski jumping synchronized with trampolinists!
Funky photo setting on my camera of the Peace Tower.
Snowbird flyover.
Making our own coins at the Royal Canadian Mint.
Swimming, BBQ, ice cream and fireworks with our neighbours.
I'm sunburnt, sticky, exhausted, happy and above all feeling extremely blessed to call Canada my home and native land. Happy Canada Day!
It looks like you had a great time celebrating.
ReplyDeleteFun! I have a soft spot for Canadians! All of those that I met in real life were just so friendly and nice and fun to be with.
ReplyDeleteWow! Looks like you had a great day! Ours was more quiet as we stayed home and then headed to my parents for some pool fun. Still was a great day to celebrate Canada's 147th!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great way to celebrate Canada Day! Thanks for the insight into spending the day in the Capital. My hubby and I decided last night we are going to do that next year and now I know that while I am there, I have to make my own coin!! lol
ReplyDeletewoo hoo!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I have fond memories of Canada Day on the hill when my children were about the same age -- we drove for three days from Winnipeg to Ottawa, and then on to the east coast. This year, we had a cool rainy day in Winnipeg, but it cleared up for the fireworks.
ReplyDeleteThe rain (and tornadoes) held off in Stittsville too. Happy Canada Day M-R!!!
