Guest Blogging Today at the Quilting Gallery Blog and a Giveaway!

I'm guest blogging over at the Quilting Gallery today so if you get a chance, pop over. But then come back because I'm doing a giveaway! If you are here for the first time, Welcome! I'm so glad you are here -- you've arrived just in time. :)

Since some of my posts are about my quilt blog travelling adventures, I thought a travel-themed fabric giveaway would be rather à propos. And while I was in Nova Scotia, I spied a few fabrics that I thought would be perfect.

So for my first giveaway (cue Vanna White), we have a fat quarter of this lovely travel word material, which is Paper Dolls Around the World by Sibling Arts Studios for Blue Hill Fabrics. For a splash of Canadian colour, I added some red inukshuk fabric from the Winter Sports line by Laurie Godin for Northcott Fabrics (it's the Vancouver Olympics line). And to round out our trifecta of travelling goodies, we have Tall Ships by David Carter Brown for South Sea Imports.

So how do you enter? You have several options (and may do all three if you like):

1. Leave a comment on this post about what you would do with this bundle if you won it.
2. Leave a comment on this post about where your best trip ever was.
3. Leave a comment that you are a reader or have become a reader of my blog.

It's open to anyone anywhere until Sunday, August 28th at 8:00 p.m. EST. Please make sure that your email is either linked to your profile or you leave your email address in the comment so that I can contact the winner. I'll post the winner on Monday, August 29th.

Good luck and happy Wednesday!

  7. I love this fabric group.

I would make a throw for my daughter who is moving to Germany with her military husband who just got back from the war. She is also going to make her home decor "travel" since this is the beginning for her of overseas travels with her family. We lived in Switzerland when she was a child..and she learned French there. I was also born in Germany to a military dad! It would be PERFECT.

    THank you
    Hope

  10. My favorite trip...was a complete circle around the USA with our five children. We stopped so many places and collected postcards ..some very funny and unique from the States we visited. We saw old friends and family all along the way..and some hilarious stories.

Like my youngest said as we entered Kentucky..It SMELLS like CHICKEN here (hinting for some KFC chicken) then my other son as we crossed a border line...the scenery NOT changing..said.."IT's much prettier here"! We continue to enjoy that trip to this day.

    THANKS FOR THE FUN

  15. Favorite trip? Gotta be the next one, wherever it may be. Although, the trip across Canada to Alaska had some pretty cool highlights...but, then there's the one to Hawaii (not yet taken), and Italy (also not yet taken), and probably a dozen more, some taken, some not, that get me salivating for adventure!

  16. And what would I do with such fabulous fabric? Well, we have some friends who met in the Peace Corp, and they have this world map with pins showing where all they have gone...and this fabric is soooooo much like that, I'd love to make them some kind of wall art to go with that picture!

Thanks for giving away such fabulous treasures!

After that it was a trip around the lake on the Canadian side and we came down somewhere near Decatur, IL to visit a relative. It was nice just driving until we needed a hotel and not worrying about a schedule. Thanks for the chance to win your giveaway.

My best trip was to Austrailia about 6 years ago. It was just my husband and I and we went for 3 months. We not only visited our friends but went to a lot of tourist places to, like Ayers Rock and Cairns. We have been lucky enough to live there twice when our children were little so we've enjoyed the wildlife and wildflowers too.

  51. My favorite trip. . . is the one I take each year the 3rd weekend of October. each year during this same weekend is Bridge Day Festival in Fayetteville, WV. It's the world's longest arch bridge and during this one day they let people walk on it and under it. People parachute and zipline off of it and there are hundreds of vendors and 10s of thousands of people. We go camping and just enjoy the amazing fall foliage that is the Appalachian mountains in this area.
