Quick Fix > Quick Scraps > Quick Top! Well, I couldn't get that strip of HSTs out of my head so I ended up sticking with those Kona scraps from Quick Fix and pairing it with some Kona Charcoal. Very, very happy with the piecing -- most of the points actually meet! :D
Now I'm playing with the placement of the strip.
Leaning (ha ha) towards asymmetry:
More negative space:
Centred:
Still more negative space:
Opinions always welcome!

Beautiful flying geese! Definitely asymmetrical design.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I like the first one.
ReplyDeleteLove that strip and definitely asymmetrical.
ReplyDeleteLove the vibrant colors and the contrast with the grey. I too like the first design
ReplyDeleteNot centered. The other 3 are much better.
ReplyDeleteLast one does it for me! Lots of space for quilting! Love the strip it is a fab idea! Thanks for linking up to #scraptastictuesday
ReplyDeleteI agree with Nicky - I like the last one too. THe strip of HSTs sits perfectly with the charcoal.
ReplyDeleteLast one. This is gorgeous and since I'm not a solids person, I'm dreaming of something similar with Alison Glass's new sunprint line, with the grey on the narrow side a bit darker than the wide side.
ReplyDeleteUse the still more negative space one! Fun, fun!
ReplyDeleteLast one!
ReplyDeleteThe first position is the best!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!! The first photo is the best...in my humble opinion.
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty. All the different shades of color make the HST strip look sparkly! I love all the asymmetrical ones, especially the last one!
ReplyDeleteAny of the asymmetrical designs, but I really love it - simple with a lot of wow factor!
ReplyDeleteOff set always works.
ReplyDeleteLove how the colors blend.:)
ReplyDeleteSimple. Colorful and very modern. Speaks a lot without having a lot. I like any way aside from being in the center... love the geese though! Favorite part of this!
ReplyDeleteNot the centered one but any of the others! Great! Lots of space for quilting. xx
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love it. You are always an inspiration to me.
ReplyDeleteCharcoal was a perfect pick for those beautiful colors. I love the one with the most negative space. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this beauty on Oh Scrap!
The colours are fabulous against that grey. I would opt for any asymetrical layout.
ReplyDeletestunning in all options!
ReplyDeleteDoor #2, Monty! I love the asymmetry!
ReplyDeleteCharcoal makes the other colors glow. Such a great choice.
