Happy Family Day for those in Ontario! This week's block is the Scrappy Asterisk block by Michelle of City House Studio. It was a little detour from the Modern Blocks book, but so worth it! I love this block too! My photo is a little skewed, but the block is straight in real life. Eight weeks in to this Modern Block Monday thing and I think I may becoming a block person. Can't say for sure yet, but doing one of these a week agrees with me so far.
Completed Modern Blocks to date:
Next week's block will be another one by Angela Pingel of Cut to Pieces, Binary. Looks fun!
Linking up to Sew Modern Monday -- if you get a chance, check out the modern goodness over there!
Happy Monday, all!
I like the bright colours in this block....how many of these blocks are you doing...do you know yet?? They should make an interesting quilt.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteLooks great in solids!
I've been wanting to do this block for a while now, and love the colours you used! It's Family Day here too!
ReplyDeleteI like that! I can't tell the colours but even in monochrome appearance it is very cool!
ReplyDeleteAn asterisk block is my first block on the Craftsy.com monthly block tutorial, though I admit I'm being delayed by waiting for a nice ruler to enable me to cut my strips and pieces! On your block the lines of the asterisk seem to stop short of the edge of the background, where in my pattern the lines run right to the edge ... How do you do it like in your block?
I like designs like this where I can see the asterisk against the contrast of the background :)
This is so cute! Are you going to put all these together in a sampler?
ReplyDeleteGreat block, the black as background solid really makes the colors pop!
ReplyDeleteLooks good! I can't wait to see how you do binary, I really like that one.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your scrappy asterisk!! :o)
