Finalist in the Bloggers' Quilt Festival and Modern Block Monday

Happy Monday, all! I'm a little later than usual with my Modern Block Monday post today. It turned out to be a good thing too because I found out this afternoon that my What the FMQAYGQAL? quilt is one of the finalists in the Bloggers' Quilt Festival vote for Favourite Home Machine Quilted Quilt. How exciting is that?! I've been giddy all afternoon! Thank you, thank you, thank you to those of you who nominated me! If you liked my quilt, I'd really appreciate your vote. There are a bunch of other great categories and gorgeous quilts, so please do take a few minutes to check them out and vote before Thursday at midnight.

Okay, back to our regularly scheduled programming. I decided to venture back into the world of triangles this week and try this cool block called Night and Day by Kimberly Walus in 99 Modern Blocks, compiled by Susanna Woods. Kimberly did her block in black and white with black dots fabrics. I chose to go with two tones of red. My points match up again - woo hoo! I'm liking the two reds...

Completed blocks to date:
Have a great Monday, all! Please vote! :)

I like the way these two reds go - I wouldn't have thought they'd be so effective. Colour combinations seem to be an endless road of learning and surprises :)
