Blogiversary Giveaway Winners and Modern Block Monday - Sea Glass Steps

Happy Monday, all! This is my 200th post! Woo hoo! 200 posts in just over a year -- well, I'm a chatty one, aren't I?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on my blog name. I've read all of your comments and I have to say that I'm more torn now than before! :) I will probably switch to "On the Quilt Side" over time, but I'll be sticking with Quilt Matters for now, mostly because I've got a number of other things that need my attention for the next little while. But who knows, maybe one day, you'll come here and BAM!, it'll say "On the Quilt Side." You just never know...

Anyhoo, let's get on with it!

The first prize is the Aurifil thread pack and four fat quarters in the Hudson's Bay colours. Thank you again, Aurifil! Drum roll...and they say number 1s never get picked!

It's Kit Lang, who said: "I think you should leave it as Quilt Matters and change the name to "On The Quilt Side" so that it'll show up online and in our readers and stuff as "on the quilt side" and that you should snap up "On the quilt side" so nobody else can steal it. Then, when you inevitably become a dot com, you can call your dot com "On The Quilt Side", and we'll already associate you with it because that's what you'll be calling yourself here (without the attendant lost readers that happen when you move to a new blog) embed your blog linky in the site and you'll be ready to go! That's my 28 1/2 cents. :)"

The second prize is the Aurifil thread pack and the colour card:

It's Kelly Smith, who said: "Congrats on your blogiversary! I do like the name "On the Quilt Side" but I like "Quilt Matters" too. I keep wishing I could come up with a cute name, but alas I am just not that cool. :)"

Congrats to both winners! I'll be sending you both an email shortly to get your digits!

Now, onto our regularly scheduled business...

This week's block is Sea Glass Steps by Louise Papas in 99 Modern Blocks, compiled by Susanne Woods. Louise did her block with some blue, green and white. I decided to stick with the sea glass idea, but used cyan and dark teal with black. I'm liking it, but I'm also wondering what it would look like if the teal was the more dominant colour -- I'm a dark colour kind of girl. I may have to try that sometime.
