Works in Progress Wednesday - June 13, 2012

I'm still playing catch up from crazy May. First, I wanted to say a big thank you to those of you who voted for my What the FMQAYGQAL? quilt in the Bloggers Quilt Festival category for favourite home machine quilted quilt. It didn't win, but that's okay -- I'm still so honoured that it was even nominated, let alone made it as one of the finalists. Cat's quilt won the category and her quilting is amazing so I hope you take a moment to check it out, if you haven't already. Congratulations, Cat! Thank you, Amy, for hosting another great festival!

I was thrilled to learn on Monday that I won Pam from Mad About Patchwork's Flea Market Fancy giveaway. As much as I love solids, I had been thinking lately that I need a bit more pattern in my life. I'm so excited to play with this fabric line. Thank you so much, Pam! And how good are Pam and Canada Post? The bundle arrived yesterday!

Just a reminder that my blogiversary giveaways are open until June 17th and you can enter on this post.

New Projects: None

Completed Projects:
Playing With Leaves (10BX Leaves) - Did some surgery on it and worked like crazy to finish this off for last week's TGIFF! Much happier with it now. It got a plug by Alex Veronelli on Facebook -- woo hoo! Thanks, Alex!

Current Projects:
Selvage pincushions - No progress.

Twelve Trees Quilt - Two more blocks done:

Hudson's Bay Point Blanket Quilt - Picked up the rest of the fabric I needed so I'll be working on the back soon. I'd like to finish this one soon and use it to replace our duvet for the summer.

Modern Block Monday Sampler - This week was Follow the Leader by Sherri McConnell. I love the lime with the purple, but I'm thinking that I should have stuck with the darker purples.

  2. I had to go back a few posts to read in more detail how and where and when the leaf project developed. It sounds like a very interesting piece to put together and interesting how you finally were pleased at how it came out. I love how things "go".

  12. I love those tree blocks and I like the combination of purples on your modern block. From my screen, I think the purples might have sunk too much into the background if you'd hadn't used the others too but, of course they may all look different in person. It's a lovely block whichever :)

  13. The leaves quilt pic doesn't do it justice. I clicked on the link to earlier pics and they're much more representative. It's got such a gentle feel to it. Lovely!!
