Works in Progress Wednesday - The Weeding Edition

It was Victoria Day here on Monday and we spent the weekend gardening. Well, weeding really. The whole weekend. How is it that weeds flourish in our shady backyard, but supposedly 'shade loving' plants don't? I'm stiff and sore now, but at least the garden beds are somewhat under control. I also discovered that we're losing two beautiful big trees to the Emerald Ash Borer. :( It's crazy what those bugs can do! I'm so not a gardener. Sigh.

What are you working on this week?

  1. It's always interesting here M-R. I really like the colors you used in your new piece.

  2. That's looking good.....the striped fabric is perfect with it.

  3. Sorry about your trees. I did some weeding on the weekend too but my yard must be smaller than yours cuz it only took us Saturday afternoon to get it done. (Totally rubbing it in right now!)
Love the new quilt!! Your striped sashing is perfect!! Can't wait to see the whole thing!
Take care of those sore muscles!

  4. Your quilting is really fantastic, M-R! Love the colours in the quilt too.
How did your wrist hold up with all that yard work?

  5. Interesting project! Take care when dropping off those pet pillows, the last time I did that I came home with a new cat ....

  6. Love the What the FMQAYGQAL? picture. It's definitely a gardening time of year :)

  7. I totally agree. I spent the weekend digging up perennials so I could get the grass out. The lawn is looking pretty good this year but with all the rain it's been growing too fast.
