It's been a long time since I've done a WIP list post and I'm feeling the need for a recap of where I'm at with WIPs/UFOs/PIGs and any other acronyms for projects in the works.
New Projects:
Placemats: These are for the Ottawa Modern Quilt Guild silent auction. I'm trying for 'scrappy sophistication with a backing of fun'.

Fibonacci of a Different Kind: This one is just about done. Will hopefully be able to share it on Friday.
Scrap{Bee} 2.0 Quilt: The quilt top is done, the backing is done and it's basting and ready to be quilted.
Carsick/Scrappy Trip Along: The last you saw this one, it was the kaleidoscope of colour with all the blocks laid out. The top is done, but no pictures yet. Backing fabrics picked out.

I really love the colours in your Modern Totems quilt!
ReplyDeleteYou sure have modern nailed. Good stuff!
ReplyDeletePretty!
ReplyDeleteI love the placemats, but really you can't go wrong with grey and solids!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place-mats and I love your interpretation of totem poles.
ReplyDeleteI see you have "Happy Villages" on hold. I'm looking forward to seeing this project.
ReplyDeleteI was just quilting some placemats from solids yesterday and struggled with how to quilt them. The stitching really shows in solids. what are your plans for quilting? I should post mine today too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collection and your UFO list makes me feel a lot better about mine.
ReplyDeleteLovin those placemats, I am anxious to see how you quilt them.
ReplyDeletethat is quite the list - thank you for making me feel better about mine! :) I'm planning on making up some placemats for a guild sale, and yours are a great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThose placemats will be fantastic when done!
ReplyDeleteNice projects! Looking forward to see some more :-)
ReplyDeleteSo many things going on! I've been trying to keep up with finishing up PHDs this year. I want to say it "is the year for it" but I think that is every year. This is just the year I jumped on the bandwagon.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you can keep track of all these gorgeous projects. But it does look like fun. You can just choose which project you're in the mood to work on. And when you're waiting for something you need to finish one project, you can pick up another. Love those colourful place mats. I do think you have hit the nail on the head with your aim for scrappy sophistication!
ReplyDeleteLove the placemats! Funny - I have placemats on my to do list this week too. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe placemats are very sophisticated-beautiful! You sure keep busy with all your projects. The totem finish is wonderful too-great color palette.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have an eye for design and colour. I love your quilts.
ReplyDeleteGreat placemats! I like your Totems project, but you already knew that. Your pinned Scrap Bee looks interesting, too. How many blocks a day did you get done? It looks like it has a lot of energy bound by very light colors. Did you piece serendipitously or keep tight control on both color and pattern of pieces? What I mean by that is I can see they are somewhat Crazy Quilt-centric and I know there are some patterns you can follow so every crazy block is composed of the same shapes. It looks to me like you have different shapes within the knots of color. I am looking forward to seeing how you quilt it.
ReplyDeleteNow I want a reason to buy placemats LOL!
ReplyDeleteSo many incredible projects! The placemats are pure genius....
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! Especially love your Carsick one! Can't wait to see how you quilt it!
