Works in Progress Wednesday - July 4, 2012

Fun, fun, fun week! Lots of swimming, BBQing, geocaching, hanging out with friends and family and some fireworks for Canada Day courtesy of my pyro hubster...

New Projects:
Don't Worry, {Bee} Modern Bee Blocks:
June was english paper piecing (EPP) hexie flowers for Chelsea. It took me almost the whole month to tackle these blocks as I've never done EPP before. I'm such a chicken sometimes. But they are done and were completed with about an hour to spare. They are now winging their way to Chelsea. She wanted modern/30s repro scrappy. Fingers crossed that she likes these!

  1. All your projects are so unique. Really love the hudson's bay backing, and your little hexie flowers look perfect. I can't say that I would have the patience to try those!

  7. Your Hudson Bay quilt is very clever, especially for those who love them, but married men with wool allergies. I am so impressed with all your lists! I made lists until my kids left home for university and I know I accomplished more when they were here. And when my lists were ever present. You have inspired me to start up again. Thanks!

  11. Hi M-R,
Just found your blog via Felicity Quilts. I live just north of Toronto, outside of Orangeville. Love your style and was fascinated by your Pink lesson...I learned alot as I am not a pink girl. What really has my commenting though is your HB point quilt. I have had one in the back of my mind to make and then, here is yours. And I thought I was original. It looks as good as i imagined it would, so I may have to go ahead and now steal your idea. I worked at The Bay for 7 yrs through high school and uni so the quilt would hold a special place in my heart as my HBC wages paid for much of my tuition.
I will be back to visit soon

    1. Hi Ann, so glad you popped around and left a wonderful comment. I tried replying, but you are a no-reply blogger. Hopefully, you'll come by again and see this. I have a few friends from Orangeville and I love meeting other Canadian quilters. I'm glad you liked the HBC point blanket quilt! When I finish it, I'll post a complete tutorial that you are welcome to use. Hope to run into you again soon!

      Cheers,
      M-R
