Works in Progress Wednesday - March 22, 2012

It seems we're skipping Spring this year and jumping right into Summer. It's been over 20C since Saturday. The week before March Break the kids were still wearing snow pants to school. When they returned to school on Monday, they were wearing shorts. Crazy!

This week, I'm participating in the St. Patrick's Day Blog Hop Party giveaway being hosted by the Quilting Gallery. If you'd like to enter, check out Friday's post.

New Projects:
Modern Jelly Roll 1600 - A three hour tour top - yay! I know exactly how I want to quilt it, but I'm out of black for the backing. Good thing there's a 50% off sale at Fabricland this weekend.

Completed Projects: One - Grey Squared - the second in my modern mini series.

Current Projects:

Cream and black modern minis - Still have the cream and black minis to finish. I ran out of basting spray and I'm too lazy to pin baste because of how densely I want to quilt them.

The remaining three in the series

Colour My World Black - Okay, I think I know what I want to do with this one -- some trapunto and some fabric folding. Yes, fabric folding! I've never done it before, but I saw Rami Kim do it on The Quilt Show this past weekend and I want to give it a try. Wish me luck!

Modern Block Monday Sampler - This week was Pebble Beach by Kim Schaefer.

Wee Spy quilt - Done and will share it in this week's TGIFF!, which is being hosted by the awesome Amanda of Don't Tell Quilts.

FMQQAYGQAL/QAYGFMQQAL - No progress.

Chop Suey - More cutting, ironing and trimming of squares. I think I almost have enough to start playing around with them on the design wall.

On Hold/UFO Mash-up:
Wee Spy quilt
Red and Tan Amish Wedding Ring
Spiral/Spring seta colour
Wedding quilt
Nine patch colourwash

WIP Wednesday Recap:
New projects: 1
Completed projects: 1
Current projects: 7
On Hold/UFO: 15

Bucket List: 40 - Yes, the tulip quilt à la Elaine Quehl is done so it's off my list!

I'm linking in to WIP Wednesday at The Needle and Thread Network and to W.i.P. Wednesday at Freshly Pieced. Thanks wonderful women for hosting such great parties!

  3. I really like your modern mini series quilts. I have a question - you mentioned that you ran out of basting spray. Do you wash the quilts after?
I wonder if there's anything I need from Fabricland. Always nice to see what's on sale.
